Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has consistently shown his admiration and support for his vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
At the 2024 NPP Manifesto launch in Takoradi, the President spoke about some of the good works the NPP has done for Ghanaians.
Nana Akufo-Addo further spoke about the forward trajectory the vice president aspires to take Ghana along if he is voted as the president come December 2024.
Citing certain comments made by the flag bearer of the NDC and former President, John Dramani Mahama some years back, the President stated that Bawumia will not slur the public if they complain of hardship.
“This is a man who has respect for the people of Ghana. This is not the man who will tell Ghanaian people that you have short memories. He’s not that type of man, he’s a man who has respect for the people of Ghana, this is not a man when his policies failed and he will say that he’s not a magician, that is not the language of Bawumia,” he said at the launch of the NPP Manifesto Sunday, August 18, 2024, in Takoradi.
The President further said that he is in the best position to testify about the competences of the Vice President since he has worked closely with him for the past years.
“I’m in the best place to give the testimony and appeal to Ghanaians to give the stewardship of this country in the next 8 years to Dr Bawumia and his running mate NAPO. Dr Bawumia and I met 16 years ago. And I can say that there has not been one day that I have regretted joining my life to his, either in opposition or in power.
“He has been a model of honesty, he’s a man who lives and breathes Ghana. I can say he will deliver on each of the commitments. I have never had any problem with my Vice President. I have gone to bed every night securing my knowledge that my vice president stands firmly and solidly behind me. He has been the model or picture of loyalty itself.
President Akufo-Addo added that Bawumia has what it takes to take Ghana where it should be.
“We have a man who is respectful and will work days and nights to ensure that our country continues on an upward trajectory,” he st
