Election 2024: The Electoral Commission wants to rig the elections-Asiedu Nketia

Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has shared some more views on the Electoral Commission’s way and manner of preparing for the December elections.

Speaking with Captain Smart on Onua TV’s morning show, Maakye, Monday, August 19, 2024, General Mosquito noted that the actions of the EC is tantamount to rigging.

He explained that the Electoral Commission (EC) indicated that it will give copies of the voter register to the various political parties before the exhibition starts on Tuesday, August 20th, but as at Monday morning, August 19th, the EC has still not given copies of the register to the parties as promised.

Asiedu Nketia explained that the activities of the EC, especially regarding the voter register is an indication that the EC wants to rig the elections for the NPP.

“The NPP means a rigging business. The EC has not told us the number of people they have registered since the voter registration and tomorrow we are doing exhibition. They have always told us to exercise patience. You have not given it to us so I don’t know what they want to exhibit.

“They did the ‘concert party’ yesterday to divert attention from the EC’s failure to provide us the album although they are starting the exercise tomorrow [Tuesday, August 20]. The Peace Council and the other peace stakeholders should talk to the EC to postpone the exhibition exercise until they release the register to us,” Asiedu Nketia stated.

Asiedu nketia further added that the missing Biometric Verification Devices have still not been retrieved. Adding that the EC initially denied that the machines were missing.

He added that the EC has still not told anyone the whereabout of the machines, so those machines could be used to inflate the voter register.

“They told us some biometric devices got missing and they have not given us any update on it. All these are means to register people secretly into the album. So they did the manifesto launch to divert attention from the exhibition so that everyone will focus on the launch,” he stated further.
