The Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr. Rashid Tanko Computer has asked the EC to be prepared for a showdown in the upcoming polls.
In the instance of the EC indicating that it will organise a credible elections come December, Dr. Rashid Tanko Computer has issued a statement in that regard telling the EC to prepare for a showdown if by credible elections the EC is using the 2020 elections as the yardstick.
He made these comments after the EC chair urged all political parties to accept the outcome of the elections come December 7, since the EC is committed to organising a credible exercise.
Speaking with Alfred Ocansey on Ghana Tonight Wednesday, July 17, 2024, Dr. Rashid Tanko Computer stated that “if Jean Mensa’s understanding of a free and fair election is how they conducted the 2020 elections, then they should prepare for a showdown.”
“We are not going to accept that kind of conduct of election. The 2020 election was one of the most shambolic election that has ever been conducted in this country and so if they are going to use that one as a benchmark to say that we should prepare to accept any type of shambolic election like the 2020, we are not going to accept that kind of election and that one we are very clear on our mind,” he stated.
